Location history

A full narrative history section

Sam Giuliano opened Sam’s Pizza Shop in 1958. Sam came to this county from his home town of Gioiosa Marea, Sicily in 1948. He was 20 years old when he arrived at Ellis Island with his mother Marianunzia. They settled in Newton Falls where some members of his family were already living.

He met his “sweetheart” Katie Riccardi, here and they were married in 1957. On their first Valentine's Day as a married couple, Sam and Katie were open for business.

Sam and Katie had 6 children who all grew up working beside their parents and grandmother at the pizza shop. Some of Sam's kids are still working here and some of his grandkids have also joined the family business.

Sam's Pizza Shop has been in business for over 60 years and thrives because of the hard work and dedication of the family who came before us. It is up to us to work to keep Sam’s Pizza the best it can be for another 60 years!

Paranormal narrative section

In the upstairs attic portion of the pizza place, employees have reported hearing voices and unexplained noises when no one else is around. The telephone is constantly ringing, and no one talks on the other end. It is said that a 13-year-old boy haunts the place. He died on the premises before it was a pizza shop. Employees refuse to enter a sub-basement as it is also believed to be haunted.
