After major events like deaths, disasters, or violent crimes, some buildings may acquire the reputation of being haunted within the community. Unlike hotels, bed & breakfasts often evoke uneasy feelings, as you are staying in someone's home or a museum. Such an experience can lead to feelings of intrusiveness rather than relaxation, as if you shouldn't be there. Bed and breakfasts may even choose to embrace their "haunted" reputation as a means of attracting visitors and ghost hunters. Such an approach would bolster the perception of haunted locations.
