Three was a great need to have a Baptist Church in Aberdeen. Mrs. Reeder, an early founder, walked to Aberdeen, from th enow Ellsberry area, crosee the Ohio river in a skiff, walked to Washington, which was 4 miles from Maysvilled to attend Church. Early known founders include William & Ella Liggett Marvin, Mr./Mrs. William Durrum, and Mrs. Reeder. Church families in the early years include Davidsons, Ruggles, & Waldrons. They began meeting in homes and the school building on the corner of Main & 3rd St. The White Collar Line, a steam boat company, operating between Cincinnati and Aberdeen & Maysville, contributed to the building fund by donating cakes & a roast pig for fundraising suppers.
