Lizzie Borden Alibi |
||
Definition: The following is Lizzie Borden's Alibi | ||
In the weeks leading up to the murders, Emma was away staying with friends in Fairhaven, and Lizzie was scheduled to join some friends in Marion for some fishing. Lizzie had been there previously but aborted her trip due to an unexpected depression and sense of dread that someone was trying to harm her family. She was in Fall River expecting to attend a meeting at her Congregational Church, but on the evening before the murders, confessed to her friend Alice Russell that she had decided to return to Marion. Her alibi for her father's murder, that she was in the barn looking for lead for sinkers, is related to this decision. |
