Twin City Opera House - Brief History

Definition: A brief history about the Twin City Opera house in McConnelsville, Ohio.
The Twin City Opera House began in the late 1800's when lots 31 and 32 of the North West corner of the public square were acquired to build the town hall and opera house for McConnelsville, Ohio. H.C. Lindsay was an architect from Zanesville who was commissioned to prepare the plans for the building which was to be three stories high with a tower that would rise 108 feet above the sidewalks and a third floor grand ballroom running the complete 63 foot width of the building. The cost of the building was to be around $16,000. Ground was broken on October 20th, 1889 with a grad open on May 28th 1892.
